Pumpkin Day

Every year we carve pumpkins just before Halloween.  Today was that day.
Above is my "before" pumpkin.
This is my "after."
Here is M's "before"
and her "after."
She wasn't entirely happy with her first one so she did a second.
Almost "before" for L.
"After" for L.
R's owl.
And Little E's progress got derailed by an unwell child.
While we are on the pumpkin theme I thought I'd show you some adorable things M made.
These are crocheted pumpkin trick-or-treat bags for the little girls.
Her stitches are beautiful.
She is quick and is good with the details.
The little girls will have fun filling them with goodies.

Wishing you creative time,

Costume Request

I was asked to make a Halloween costume for GB#4.
It began as a regular infant jumper.
The pattern is another one by Made by Rae and you can find it here.
I made it longer to cover little legs from the potential cool weather.
I added elastic at the bottom for easier diaper changes.
The snaps at the back mimic the dots in the fabric.
The little pockets are really just for show,
but we like to pretend that she will have a place for her cell phone and car keys.
Then I drafted a bib-style pattern to make a collar.
The result is one little strawberry.
GB#4 will be wearing it with the hat I made for her earlier.

Wishing you fun projects,

For the Little Man

I grabbed a small chunk of time today and finished this little pair of pants for GB#3.
They are lined with flannel which turns up for a cuff and will keep him warm.
The pattern I used is the Basic Newborn Pant from Made by Rae.
I made a few adjustments including making them fully lined so they would be reversible and
making them a couple inches longer so they could be cuffed.

This little people sewing is just too much fun!

Wishing you fun (and a little sewing time),

A Couple of Young Men

T-bone (DS) was sworn in as a lawyer today.  We are so proud of that young man.
Later in the day we did our 4 month shoot for GB#3.
These are a few of the shots that didn't make picture of the day.

Here's looking at you,
