June Photo Challenge Wrap Up

Day 27 of the June Challenge:  Your Weakness
Quilt show vendors!  I did pretty well on the restraint this time.
I managed to get away with one book, one pattern, a little fabric, a charm pack, and some snaps.
The large chunks are for a workshop I will be attending in October.
Day 28 of the June Challenge:  Transportation
We were back at the prairie on Friday night.  This is the available transportation for those who would rather not walk from their parking spots to the concert site.
Day 29 of the June Challenge:  Trees
Instead of showing you a picture of the whole tree, I decided to lean against the base of the tree and point the camera up.  I like the glow and leaf definition that resulted.
And wrapping things up for the month of June...
Day 30:  Family
It would have been too predictable for me to take a picture of my children or grandchildren for this assignment, so I took a picture of a picture that hangs in my entryway.  This is me with my siblings.  I am the one on the far right with the curls who can't seem to stand still for the photo.

This challenge has been fun for me.  I hope you have enjoyed it too.  Coming soon I will be revealing the answer to the What Is It? question, sharing a few photos from a trip to Florida in April, and much more.

See you soon,
Sharon

Picking Favorites

Day 26 of the June Challenge:  Your Favorite Color

I have to tell you that I love color.
If you asked someone who knows me what my favorite color is, they might say red (I do love red), or orange (a current favorite), or spring green.
I own every color of Fiesta dinnerware that is currently or recently available just so I can change them out with the seasons and holidays.
It would really be impossible to pick an actual favorite so for this assignment I am going to go way back to my childhood days and pick blue.
Blue was always my favorite color growing up.  To this day it still makes me happy.
I love blue and white dishes and blue and white quilts.
So I guess you could say that my lasting favorite color is blue.

More tomorrow,
Sharon

On a Hot Day

Day 25 of the June Challenge:  Citrus

Lemon as a garnish.
Just what was needed on a hot summer evening.

Keeping cool,
Sharon

Love

Day 24 of the June Challenge:  Love

Again, this was a really tough one.  Besides all the people in my life that I love,
what could I pick for this subject?
I could pick fabric or yarn, quilts or knitting.  I could pick chocolate or ice cream.
But ultimately I chose my sewing machine.  Without it I would be lost.
I have been sewing since I was a very young girl and cannot imagine a life without my machine.
I do love it.

See you tomorrow,
Sharon

Landscape

Day 22 of the June Challenge:  Landscape

I was afraid I was not going to be able to get today's photo because of an afternoon downpour,
but it cleared up in time for us to head out to the prairie.
This is a summertime tradition here.
It is called Symphony on the Prairie.
Each weekend throughout the summer there is a performance outside under the shell.
We sit outside on the grass in camping chairs or on a blanket,
bring a picnic dinner and listen to the wonderful music.

See you tomorrow,
Sharon

What is it?

Day 21 of the June Challenge:  Micro (up close)
I haven't done a "What Is It?" for a while.
Here is my Micro picture.  What is it?
GB#2 is 7 months old today.  She is quite tall.
She is quite grown up and getting very mobile.
She is curious
and loves to show us her personality.

So...what is it?

A Little Spring

Day 20 of the June Challenge:  Water
For today's photo I chose the bubbly fountain we just installed in our little alcove.

Since yesterday was filled with summer photos, and I'd like to get caught up by the end of June, today I will share some photos from my yard from back in April when spring was just emerging.

Good bye, spring.  Hello, summer.

See you tomorrow,
Sharon

Summertime

Corn on the cob definitely means Summertime to me.
Day 19 of the June Challenge.

The thought of summertime inspired me to go outside and take some more pictures.

The daylilies are in bloom,
the coreopsis is in bloom,

and the tiny Johnny jump-ups are in bloom.

Wishing you a wonderful summer,
Sharon

Don't forget to vistit Raewyn, Rachel and Marga for their June pictures.

See you tomorrow,

The Number Jar

Day 16 of the June challenge is Mason Jar/Jelly Jar

This is my version of the number jar.  Something is written on each piece of paper.
It is not a number.  Any guesses?

Have fun,
Sharon

Action

Day 15 of the June Challenge:  Action

The sun was shining today.

As promised, I made my attempts at a sun flare.
Is this what it is supposed to look like?
What camera settings do you use for this effect?

June is halfway done. Are you having fun with the challenge?

Someone You Love

Day 14 of the June Challenge:  Someone You Love

As luck would have it, CJ arranged a photo shoot today in honor of Father's Day
for T-Bone and GB#2 (Daddy and daughter).
It was perfect weather for an outside shoot and perfect timing for the challenge.

See you next time,
Sharon

Childhood

June Photo Challenge Day 13:  Reminds You of Childhood

This tiny suitcase is not much larger than a lunch box.
I took this case to my first sleep over when I was 5 or 6 years old.
I walked all the way to my friend Doreen's house...right across the street.

Wishing you wonderful childhood memories,
Sharon

No Sun, No Flare

There was no sun today; therefore, I did not get a sun flare picture.
So instead I will leave you with this shot of a dew drop from last September.
I especially like the rainbow in the upper right corner.
So when the sun shines again, I will try my hand at a picture with a sun flare.

See you tomorrow,
Sharon

Silhouette, Day 11 of Challenge

Lincoln

June Photo Fun - #10, Animal
This is Lincoln.  He is the latest member of Big D and R's family.
On a seasonal note, we saw our first fireflies tonight.  Ah, summer.

Wishing you little joys (like kittens and fireflies),
Sharon

Underwhelmed

Picture #8 is Sunset.
I was quite underwhelmed by today's sunset, but since it was the assignment, I took it.

See you tomorrow,
Sharon
