On a Walk

Summer is making the flowers turn brown.

Although some of them are trying to hold on.

Wishing you beauty in the last days of summer,
Sharon

Happy Fourth of July!

I do love to coordinate a holiday table.
I serged the bandanas together for a very quick table cloth project.
Because of the rainy, soggy day, we ate inside,
but the new table cover will work outside as well.
The water for the flowers was tinted blue.
Corn muffins filled the patriotic cupcake liners.
M made red, white and blue pinwheel cookies.
We put fruit on mini skewers for a mini flag.
The dipped and decorated Rick Krispie treats were a big hit.
Of course we had other food too, but I neglected to get photos of it all.
I will leave you with this quilt top I made on my recent trip to Shipshewana.

Happy Fourth of July!

Summer Duds

I've been sewing.
If you've been following me for a while, you know I love the little details,
little tabs and collars,
pockets with trim,
mismatched pockets and sleeves,
and contrasting buttons.
It's all very summery.
It's all little boy.

Wishing you all the good summery things,

Sharon

A Birthday and a Finish

Here is my completed large crochet project shown in progress here and here.
It is a one handled bucket made for GB#3 for his birthday.
I imagine him dragging it around.
It was designed to hold these vintage wood blocks that used to belong to his Daddy.
Happy Birthday, big guy!

Holiday Baking

M has been baking holiday cookies again.
This time they are Easter themed.
She did all the baking and made the royal icing.  It was our first time trying something other than buttercream.  We shared duties piping and filling the spaces.  I think they turned out fairly well considering it was our first attempt.
I found some food coloring markers and put faces on the bunnies.
Even the scraps got the "royal" treatment.

Hoping you try something new,

Sharon
