Friday's Forgotten Photos

Last June I posted this picture and posed the question "What is it?"
I totally forgot that I had not revealed the answer.
Joanne guessed it right.  It was a stone in my tire.

See you soon,

The Story of a Fox

As some of you know M's birthday was last week.
I used templates from Lia Griffith to make paper feathers and bows to put on her packages.
A while back I was searching the internet for a particular fox fabric and came across this one.  It is not what I was looking for but I knew immediately that I had to get some.
I had several different ideas for the fabric but ended up making this little zippered pouch with a pretty floral lining.
It's called a dumpling and the pattern and tutorial can be found here.
It opens wide.
I used the zipper scraps for side tabs
and put ribbon on the zipper for a pull tab.
And, oh yeah, it happens to match M's phone case.
Happy birthday, M!

See you soon,

Sharon

Friday's Forgotten Photos

Most of the little projects I do are gifts for other people.
This makes it incredibly hard to document progress as it happens on projects since most of the gifts go to those who also read this blog.
This is a little pillow I made for CJ for her birthday last year.
I had fun with the piecing and with the embroidery.
 I'd like to do more.
Happy Birthday, CJ!

See you soon,

Sharon

A Snowy Day

The snow began early in the day.

It continued all day.

The snow was wet and heavy, sticking to everything.
Our street was peaceful and quiet.
M and I took a walk and ate snowflakes.
Tomorrow is going to be bitter cold.
Tomorrow we will be staying in.

Wishing you peaceful days,

Sharon

Friday's Forgotten Photos

The new year is here and I seem to have lots of photos from 2013 that never made it onto the blog.  I am starting a new feature here called "Friday's Forgotten Photos" that I will be posting until such time that it is no longer needed.

The first set of pictures is from Florida in April.
Fireball and I had the pleasure of a few days away.

We left our footprints in the sand.
I looked at sidewalks and saw quilt patterns.
The water and weather was gorgeous.

This bird stood in the water until his feet disappeared just like I did.

I found interesting things to photograph.
We had dessert instead of lunch.
And then had dessert after that.
We woke up early just to see the sunrise.

It was totally worth it.

This bird, and many others like him, were up early just like we were.

And he left his footprints in the sand.

I have started another year of 365 pictures over on Curiously Intertwined
Please join me there too.

See you soon,

Sharon
