Rain, Rain, and More Rain

This evening a strange looking sky turned into a thunderstorm.
The drainage ditches filled up quickly as the storm settled in for a while.
They began to merge with the now flooding street.
Soon we couldn't tell where the yard ended and the road began.
As the drainage pipes couldn't process the amount of water,
it poured over the driveway and into the yard.
The rain has now subsided and the water has receded.
This doesn't happen often so it made for an exciting evening.

Wishing you a little excitement,
Sharon

A Little Something Different

Yesterday I had the opportunity to try something new and hang out with my quilty friends.
We worked very hard
and ended up with these very creative and different trees.
The trees are painted and are waiting to be fired.
I can't wait to see what mine will look like when it is done.  The color should look very different from this.  I'll be sure to show you a picture.
On the way home I encountered more snow.
Our predicted 1 to 2 inches of snow turned out to be more like five and a half.  Just one more half inch of snow this winter season, and we will set a record for the snowiest ever.

Wishing you new things and a little spring,
Sharon

A Snowy Day

The snow began early in the day.

It continued all day.

The snow was wet and heavy, sticking to everything.
Our street was peaceful and quiet.
M and I took a walk and ate snowflakes.
Tomorrow is going to be bitter cold.
Tomorrow we will be staying in.

Wishing you peaceful days,

Sharon
