The One About a Quilt

I'm finally posting about that quilt.
Yesterday we got my quilt hanging system in place.
Today there was enough light to go out and get some pictures.
It was so fun to work on but took me a very long time to get done.
The pattern is a free pattern designed by Tula Pink called Bird Seed
and is available from the Bernina blog
I used mostly Anna Maria Horner fabrics
with some solids and fabrics from my stash thrown in.
Below are way too many close-ups I hope you'll enjoy.
I quilted all the gray background the same and the triangles are all the same as well.
I quilted each seed of the same color with a different design.

If you've made it to the end, thanks.
Now I need to blog about the other two quilts
that I finished before this one that got me back to quilting.
See you soon.

Birthdays and Babies

It's hard to believe GB#4 is six today.
We celebrated yesterday at a new-to-us park.
It was so good to see this little family
that will soon be getting a little bit bigger.

A Day in the Yard

On this beautiful day Fireball and I went out to tackle a very overgrown boxwood hedge.
We made lots of discoveries in the process.
This little nest held lots of tiny ants and also a couple of frantic spiders.

Fireball wanted to know what was on his shirt, thinking it might be a grasshopper.
It was not.
As I took the picture for Fireball, it tried to jump at me. I dodged him.

This little nest was full of scraps of who knows what.

The third nest was covered with grasses and garden debris
but otherwise was made of mud.
And last but not least we found three balls that were so far under the bushes,
they could only be found with all the trimming.

Blue Angels Fly Over

Today the Blue Angels did a Fly Over around Indianapolis
to honor our health care workers.
We drove to a parking lot close to the intended route,
right across the street from our closest hospital.

I did not anticipate the number of people that were there.
The parking lot was full.
We kept our distance, but I did get a few shots as they flew overhead.
Unfortunately, it was very cloudy and gray to the west,
the direction from which they approached.

Then they prepared to make a hard right.

And just like that, they were gone.  Below are a couple of close-up shots.
